We are planning to relocate to GA for work and would like to get some insight on good places to live and raise kids. Workplace is near to the airport (15 mins drive) and we are looking for good school district/elementary school, good neighbourbood within reasonable commute to work(30-35 mins drive). Don't have any idea about Atlanta other than visiting Georgia aquarium, CNN and other nearby places. Traffic during the drive from airport to these places looked reasonable (same as in dallas). Looking forward to hear from some of you who lived/moved to Atlanta. Thanks.

DallasToGA, I am a Gerogia native but have spent 3 years in the 80s in Fort Worth, married a Texan, back to Marietta until 2003 and now have been in Mckinney since. I know these two cities better than any two cities in the country.

Where are you in the Dallas area currently? What ISD are you in and which HS cluster are your kids currently in? What kind of commute have you had here? What about the community, schools and commute do you like and dislike and what of that would you like to see replicated in Atlanta?

They are not carbon copies of each other, but I can't think of any two metro areas in the country that share so many demographic similarities. If you give me an idea of what you like (or maybe even would have preferred if you didn't have it here... like lived in Richardson but would have preferred Plano.... that sort of thing) and I will give you my opinion of the Atlanta area that most closely fits the bill.
