Seems like a good idea to me.

One of the first road projects the Buckhead Community Improvement District might complete in 2016 could be the last one placed on its project list—a “complete streets” makeover of East Paces Ferry Road from the Gordon Bynum Bridge to Roxboro Road.

The project would include a multi-use trail for pedestrians and bikes and streetscapes and is expected to cost more than $1 million for the distance of about seven tenths of a mile.

It would give residents in Peachtree Park a safe alternative to get to Lenox Station and Mall, via the existing bridge and connect those 2 destinations to the proposed PATH400.
Much better use of money, than building a cap over the freeway.

I think this is a very good idea for the area. Methods of surveillance have greatly improved since Gordon Bynum was murdered on that bridge, and there needs to be some sort of connection between the two neighborhoods.

If only East Paces Ferry was connected to itself, across 400. And then if they would fix/align the boondoggle that is its intersection at Piedmont:

Then you'd have an actual new cross-city corridor, which is much needed for that area.

Good luck with Peachtree Park residents approving that.

Yep. When 400 was built they wanted a ped-only connection due to the major amount of cut-through traffic from Piedmont to Lenox.

It's just a shame that Buckhead can't put together any kind of grid system, because everywhere you turn there's a quiet street with 50 nice homes on it.

I wish I could go all Cities: Skylines on it, I would clean up and connect up everything.

Buckhead was developed as a suburban, low density, SFH area that just happens to have a super-block dominated, major employment center in the middle along it's major corridor.
