Better view of the skyline maybe?

Announced in 2015, why is this taking so long? Perhaps owners are holding out to see if they can finance larger buildings more like the original plan.

There are going to be more changes at Atlantic Station in the next 18 to 24 months than there were in the previous 10 years

10 story, 360 unit apartment complex coming to to the hole where BB&T Atlanta Open has been held.
Quote:
This summer, construction should begin on a 360-unit residential development by AMLI. Slated to open in 2020, the apartment project is anticipated to fetch some of the highest rental prices in the city, per Hines.

The 10-story development would rise at the corner of 19th and Market Streets, along the exit ramp from the Connector, featuring 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.

As well as a hotel planned to rise next to The Atlantic, 17th St at State St.
Quote:
Also slated to open in 2020 is a new Embassy Suites Hotel, planned at the corner of 17th and State streets. The hotel would rise adjacent to The Atlantic condos, across the street from the existing Twelve Hotel. In addition to 120 hotel rooms, the development would feature a “high-end steakhouse” facing 17th Street, per plans.

As long as they pipe in music (which they do), it’s not a ‘neighborhood’ or a ‘district’. It’s a mall.

I actually love AS, but they need to better embrace the idea that it's an area of the city, rather than a shopping mall destination, regardless of people driving to there or not.

The good thing about the hotel is that it should hide views of The Atlantic's ugly above-street parking deck:

The music is piped in for a reason, and it works.
