Cobb Community Transit Rebranding to Cobb LINC... What does it mean for Transit in the County??? Just a new LOOK or a Change in the Form of Transit as a Whole. Could this be a closer push towards Rail or even Marta or just another way for the County to distance itself with an Image of it's own.

They wasted $300K on this rebrand. It is just new buses with a new paint job, same old CCT. They still do not have a live arrival app or ways for riders to load trips on a BreezeCard, except visiting the MTC between certain hours.

Why can't we just have one unified MARTA system in all the counties? It's just so stupid that there is even a "transfer station" at all.

I mean it's not like Cobb has to worry about keeping those African-Americans out of their county anymore. You'd be hard-pressed to find 5 white people on any given day at Cumberland Mall.

They need some kind of park&ride shuttle bus transit station at the Galleria. At the very least.

I see you live in Vinings?

I am in the process of buying a condo in Vinings, so I am going to be living ITP, Atlanta address, just a tad outside the ATL city limits yet in an area not at all served by MARTA (or even CCT bus routes). Whereas my work is way up in Alpharetta, far outside the perimeter, and yet MARTA goes there every day.

I mean, how ridiculous is that? The county lines are so completely arbitrary. The whole thing is an inefficient, stupid, mess. And is especially a shame since we so desperately need transit options across this metro.

It's totally ridiculous, and short-sighted on the old guard Cobb-ster leadership. The days of isolation are over.

Yeah...

I got a great deal on a nice little place, and Vinings is a really nice area, and with an actually pretty good walk score- so I just couldn't pass it up, even as a transit advocate.

I am banking on something big happening within 5-10 years, as far as MARTA transit at least to Cumberland. Too many factors coming together, including the Braves, that are just going to push things to a tipping point.

What I would like to see is a direct, non-stop articulated shuttle bus between a bus transit hub/station at the Galleria at Akers Mill (with commuter parking deck and connections with all the Cobb local routes), and Arts Center station. Via existing Akers Mill HOV ramps, and a new bridge with HOV exit at 15th st in Midtown. And convert the lane to HOT.

Even if that is run as "Cobb Linc", I don't care, as long as something happens, something better than a local bus route or an "express" 2-hour long stupid GRTA route.

I feel like something is bound to happen eventually. Somebody in leadership will have to pull their head out of the sand.
