I see the Hawks just signed Jarret Jack for the veteran minimum. When he was with my Warriors he was a good player. Last year with New Jersey he darn near beat us single handedly. I think he is quite the bargain for you guys.

He is a great bargain for the minimum salary...and he could come back to where he played his college ball. Great pick up for the Hawks!

If he can get healthy again, this is definitely a steal! It gives Coach Bud a solid, veteran backup for those times that Schroder gets a little erratic.

I just heard that Humphries was resigned. I am okay with that as well.

I always liked Splitter when he was with the Spurs but he was injured most of the season. He will be a great backup for Howard if he's healthy and stays with the Hawks.

A healthy Splitter would definitely help things. The real story is who will end up being cut since the roster now sits at about 17 or 18.

This guy claims in this article that Atlanta is "The New Cleveland" when it comes to sports. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. Thought it was interesting and funny in a morbid sort of way. I don't believe in "curses," but it does make one wonder why it has had so much disappointment.

He obviously doesn't know anything about sports there are cities that do not have a ring at all.

These articles are pretty informative about many things. That's another good one featuring things one doesn't always think about. This article brought to mind a facet of the Braves that I often thought about. The Braves stadium was kind of isolated. Across multiple lane highways from the city core. Of course Atlanta has limited places to build stadiums what with Georgia Tech, the historic black colleges, residential areas, railroads, and huge highways ringing the downtown. Had it been located nearer the streets and buildings of downtown, it could have livened up downtown possibly. All those sports fans would have wandered around to bars, nightclubs, cafe's, hotels, etc. I wonder how different Underground could have been if the stadium was nearby. There are vast parking lots south of Mitchell St. I wonder why no thought was given to place something there-is there another issue? It's too bad there isn't some way to build that huge empty space adjacent the Five Points station where the old Constitution building stands empty. The Omni, Georgia Dome, and even the new stadium are quite a hike to the streets of downtown. it has proven difficult to tie the core together as it is split on many sides with dead zones by rail lines and highways.
