Oh really? That is really not easy to tell on Google maps. If that's the case, it is basically an empty lot except for Starbucks and the bars are pretty nondescript so it won't be any loss.

Lost a huge nightclub, a smaller club and Starbucks and that's about it

Yeah the biggest place was Quad, and it closed back in 2014. Xcess lounge closed too. There's a small club called Enclave that is still open.
That Starbucks gets super busy at times, despite being just one block away from another Starbucks.

Well then this new building is going to be quite an upgrade. And did I hear correctly that the Starbucks will temporarily close and then move into the new building, along with a few other shops?

Makes sense when you think about it. These Tech students will be hitting the books and probably have neither the time nor money to be out carousing. On the other hand they will still need a place to grab a quick cuppa on the way to class.

Tech Square is in a full on sprint. I remember the article in the Business Chronicle maybe a couple of years ago about seven towers coming to the immediate area. Today, two have been completed, two more a under construction, 880 West Peachtree is in permitting and two just went before the Midtown DRC.

Nah there is 10-11k sq ft of retail. No way that is just for Starbucks alone. That's like 1/3 the size of the Sprouts that just opened in Modera Morningside

I meant that Starbucks is the only current business remaining on site. There no doubt will be other retailers joining it on the ground-floor level.
