Attention Atlantians - you can't drink from the TN River
The giant straw your local legislators want to put in the Tennessee River to solve your water problems is not the answer!
How about building a desalinization plant and pulling from the Atlantic Ocean?
What do you think should be done?

I agree with the desalinization plant idea and that was the idea I came up with a while back and even wrote to politicians. Obviously, they have a stick too far up their **. The only downside to desalinization is the cost and that more miles of piping will be needed, and the pipe will have to be pumped uphill.
I have an idea, though. Instead of whining about GA tapping water that later flows into their states, why don't all the neighboring states help build a desalinization plant?

As a shareholder in the Coca-Cola Company, may I suggest more people drink Dasani. Maybe take a bath in it! Water the lawn!
;-) (just kidding)

We've been trying to give Memphis to Arkansas for years. They won't take it.

send up some pecans and peaches, and we'll send down some Little Debbie Snack Cakes and RC Cola! Oh, and we'll even throw in some Gold Bond powder for those who have their panties in a bunch

we just came up with a way to settle this dispute....we'll have a giant water balloon fight...and either way you look at it....you'll come out of it all wet. Isn't that what you're trying to accomplish?
