Yep. It is the second busiest in the state in flight operations. After ATL obviously, but ahead of SAV and other smaller airports accross the state.

It is the corporate jet mecca for Atlanta.

You've got the Cumberland Galleria not far away. There is light enough development a number of the roads in the area could be expanded. And its a logical stop if there is ever a Cobb rail extension.
I don't see how Cumberland is relevant. An airport should be designed for whatever purpose it would serve and that includes getting to and from it on land. Cobb is developed there.

You seem to be saying their is insufficient transportation, yet it handles the Cumberland Galleria. And north of there towards the AFB, development is not very dense. A lot of scattered strip centers with good setbacks.

No, I'm saying that there is insufficient infrastructure and that the area is already congested enough.

This a joke of a plan! Greater Atlanta needs a SECOND airport period! I don't live there any more but I remember way back in 1991, a site in Gwinnett was selected but the county was way too shortsighted to see the benefits! How many businesses and residences will lose their property to eminent domain for this? The airport's location, given the northward movement of Atlanta's growth and no material increase in highway development is also becoming, imo, an issue as well.

Lawrenceville wanted to expand their airport to accommodate commercial service but the locals said HELL NO to that.

Can't say that I blame them.

Maybe the solution is to give regional airports such as the ones in Columbus and Augusta some love.

I've suggssted the undeveloped land west of Canton would be perfect for a second airport, *IF* it ever happens.

It has the needed interstate highway access and it's in close proximity to the white collar business centers in Alpharetta and Cumberland / Marietta.

I can guarantee you that Columbus would be all in for that.
