Hey all. I'm pretty new to the Atlanta forum. My husband is contemplating taking a new job in Atlanta by the airport. We currently live in Fla and have four children. Teo in elementary, one in middle and one entering HS in the fall. We want to rent for a year or so, until we finalize where we want to be. My children are currently in A rated schools. I would like them to stay in whatever district they start in, so as not to uproot them again after the initial move. Does anyone have any inof on Peachtree city schools?
We would like to rent a 4 bedroom house for about 1800-2k a good district. Does anybody know if it would be a good fit? Hubby currently has a 45 minute commute. He would like to keep it around that if possible.
Thanks all.

Fayette County. Easy. Every high school in that county is good/great. Very family friendly.
PTC and Tyrone (highly underrated compared to more expensive PTC) have quick access to I-85 which on that side of town has barely any traffic compared to the northside of Atlanta. But Fayetteville is also nice and there are back roads you could take to the airport area.

Peachtree City is the ideal location for families that have jobs based around the airport especially if you're looking for top rated schools in a city that has one of the lowest crime rates in the nation. The area is very family oriented. There are tons of parks, hiking trails, and amenities for families, and the multi-use golf cart paths make it truly unique. Golf Carts are a main mode of transportation to schools, churches, grocery stores, and restaurants.

Peachtree City also has some of the best schools in the State. Every elementary, middle, and High School in the Peachtree City area is rated in the top 1%-10% of the State (schooldigger). We relocated to PTC from Florida and the A rated schools in Florida seemed to be significantly behind the schools in PTC. The north side of Peachtree City is about 20 minutes from the airport and the southern end of the city is about 30-40 minutes away. Also, the schools here are more economically homogenous than what we experienced in Florida. Most of the families in PTC are middle to upper middle class professionals (average family income around 110K)

The two main school districts in PTC are:
1. Crabapple, Kedron, PTC, Huddleston/Booth Middle/McIntosh High (Central and north PTC)
2. Peeples, Braelinn, Oak Grove/Rising Starr Middle/Starr's Mill High (south PTC and parts of unincorporated Fayette County)

Another good school district in Fayette County is the Whitewater High School District.
