The Home Deopt is HQed here. I am not sure of any others. I am sure you could google companies that are HQed in Atlanta and figure which of those are retail.

Macys has a big operation here -- but they are laying off people, so is Home Depot. The Coca-Cola company actually has a retail side that is based here as well.

Fortune magazine routinely lists the Fortune 500 (and I think they might even have a Fortune 1000) list that compiles the largest U.S. companies by market value. The last time I saw this list online, it was searchable by state. I can tell you that Atlanta has several Fortune 500 companies. As for whether they are "retail" companies, I guess it depends on what you mean by retail. 99% of all companies sell some sort of product, so that would make them retail in a sense.

Definition of retail => have stores where their product is sold. Starting a job search and my area is visual merchandising and communications. Thanks for the Fortune 500 tip...didn't even think of them.

Macys South, Home Depot, UPS, Coca Cola, Newell Rubbermaid are just a few biggies. Are you looking for a retail job or a corporate position in a HQ?

Actually, our Macy's division (South) is getting ready to absorb the entire St. Louis (Central) operation and be totally reconfigured - so there may be some growth going on.

That's interesting about Macy's -- I may try applying with them again.
