And another example of the state helping out the city of Atlanta.
Where is the state helping out on this project? Tech's funding?

Here's a story about one man who doesn't care for these new bike lanes.

Commuter: Damn you, Atlanta, for removing street lanes near Georgia Tech

Pretty silly article, considering that the road ol' Jason is moaning about hasn't really been reduced in capacity. There was only a single lane traveling in each direction; the others were dedicated to parking.

He doesn't care because he uses a college campus, with thousands of pedestrians, as his personal short cut/cut thru. Northside Dr, a car-sewer, is parallel and provides plenty of capacity.

$20 says that he does not reside in the City of Atlanta.

I wonder if this gentleman has ever considered getting out of his car and commuting on two wheels?

I think Tech Parkway was the replacement when hemphill was shortened because its section that went across Tech, past the student center, was closed and removed. Hemphill was pretty important for traffic flow.

As someone that started at Georgia Tech as an undergrad in 1986 when there was NO apartments or businesses in West Midtown, I see the need for Tech Parkway as a good pass-thru to Northside Rd. And I worked in West Midtown for over a decade as the area started to re-develop.

This project is a cosmetic ONLY improvement at best. And at worst, will cause an increase in traffic.

A few years ago, they reduced the lanes for most of Tech Parkway from 4 to 2 lanes by adding street parking.

But now that West Midtown is booming, it's not the time to narrow lanes and worsen traffic flow.

The left turn from Tech Parkway onto North Ave is already a disaster.
