True, sitting on a train would give me more options to pass the time, but I also enjoy the simple act of driving, and I like spending time in the car and talking with my wife.

On the train I would probably read. I still have almost two volume's of Winston Churchill's WWII memoirs to finish. Regardless of what you might think about his politics, the man is an interesting writer. IMO.

We also need to consider the fact that a significant amount of elderly people cant drive anymore and need alternate means. Look at how many retirement condos are getting built in town right now.
