The tolls collected would never cover the cost to build and/or maintain them.

While I believe trucks should be separated from cars, I also agree with your statement that laws need to be enforced to bring about civility. This lawlessness makes it very difficult for those who are doing right.

Oh FFS. This state is getting almost as bad as Texas when it comes to building as many lanes as possible.

And why make trucks travel in tolled lanes? That would add costs to the product that would be passed onto us, the consumer.

Well, the alternative is an alternate route, right? Better logistically, but probably impossible politically.

Or, you know, upgrade existing, and already congested rail corridors?

Perhaps a silly question, but are there any rail corridors which roughly parallel I-75 north and west of the I-285 intersection?

Lots of spring breakers are Georgians. But he was responding to our discussion of HOT lanes which would partly pay for themselves. These truck lanes won't.

Trucking is a 24/7 business.

If you want them out of the metro, build an outer loop.

These aren't going to be tolled.

Georgia hasn't done anything in about 20 years. We should be building as many lanes as possible to handle projected growth.

Yes. Both CSX and NS have routes that go north to Chattanooga. NS swings farther west toward Dallas before turning toward Rome then Dalton. CSX follows 75 pretty closely going through Cumberland, Marietta, Acworth, Cartersville, etc. before also going through Dalton to Chattanooga.
