I found these photos of the whopping inch snowfall occurence back in January. Northerner transplants I'm sure won't be overwhelmed.

Okay the snow wasn't impressive but I have to say that I was really happy about the joyfull reaction to the snow by all the kids in my neighborhood. Sure, where I used to live kids would get excited about a snowstorm...........but nothing compares to the dancing, laughing and downright glee of the kiddies here in Atlanta. That made my day.

Cool shots Pless.. I remember attending college in Ohio waking up one late October morning and seeing a very similar scene in my neighborhood (the first time I had ever seen that much snow.) Only there, everything was business as usuall. No school out, or even delayed, everybody went to work same as the day before.

in that snowstorm we got about 3.5 inches here in McDonough, at one time it was actually heavy snow.

I remember that...it was really cold for about a week afterwards...it took a long time for the snow to melt. It would "refreeze" at night. We were actually out of school for several days.

This was in Cobb County...1988.

However, nothing beats the Blizzard of 1993...a foot of snow in our part of Cobb County! Sometime before this event, I remember some northern-person saying that it doesn't really count as a good snowfall if you can still distinguish the streets from the yards. I was amazed when I finally saw this "phenomenon"--not being able to distinguish the streets...right here in Atlanta!

Nothing funnier than seeing palm trees with snow on them.

We had so much fun in that snow. You can't tell very well from the picture but at the time I took them it was snowing pretty thick.

Later that day we went over to the Candler Park golf course (walked of course) and went sledding down the hill over by the clubhouse. Most people were using waxed up cardboard. One kid had a real sled and let my son ride with him. They really ZOOMED, giggling the whole way...
