Sports curse. It's well known outside of the one Braves World series win that this city either just performs poorly when it counts or chokes away big games in all of their sports teams.

For real. 14 division titles and the Braves won one WS. Thrashers made it to the playoffs once and got swept. Hawks went on that amazing win streak and didn't make it to the finals. Falcons completely blew a lead after dominating the game. This is THE most miserable sports town.

The Falcons when they scored, just did it too dang fast leaving the D out there. Seems like the Falcons defense was on the field entire 2nd half and no gas left whatsoever.

Losing a big game every now and again wouldn't be so bad if we won some, which we never do, or if at least we didn't choke horribly, which we always do.

Oh well. Back to celebrating the Serena Williams and surprise Roger Federer Austrailian Open win.

Agreed, the biggest city that just has a history of blowing games every which way, now they are in the history books it. Esh!

They are a good team, but getting back is always hard and injuries, contracts, only give teams maybe 3-4 seriously competitive years and then it's challenging with all those factors hitting, look at GB or Seattle, they're teams got signed away, big contracts hurt them and they are good, but just can't get back. It's hard.

Very poor showing after a solid start, but there were a number of screw ups later in the game, when in FG range should be running it or quick dump after that Jones catch, especially when you need a FG to push the game back to two scores.

Also they had at least one or two times they could have killed the clock 20-seconds or more on that drive after getting a first, it just changes the whole dynamic of the game by not cutting down the time.

Same here, arjay57.

To blame the City/Metro somehow for our lack of sports titles is just ridiculous.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't change any of our day to day lives.
