I have a young child who is currently in the public school but it may not always be the best choice for us. This is an average student. Not a Westminster/Pace candidate. Can you please advise regarding schools that tend to be geared towards middle of the road kids? Also, a caring social environment. I do not want a high pressured feel for this child. It won't do anyone any good. Woodward is out for us, no far commute. Need close to Buckhead.
Thank you.

Child's age? Looking for a religious environment or not important? Able to afford the typical tuition for "Buckhead" privates?

Currently elementary school, 3rd grade. Prefer no strong religious affiliation but an affiliation is fine (no ultra Christian), typical tuition is fine. Thank you.

If you are near DeKalb, you might consider Friends School, Cliff Valley or Sophia Academy. They would be a big commute if you are over near Westminster.

Because of where we live we want to limit the school search to west Buckhead, ideally. This child will have siblings in at least one other school so we want to minimize commute issues. Thanks for suggestions.

I was under the impression that Holy Innocents' was one of the more competitive schools. I will look into this one & Galloway for sure. I've heard great things about Galloway. Also, how is Holy Spirit?

How often are kids turned down or wait listed at Galloway/Holy Innocents'/Holy Spirit, any others similar? Does anyone have input as to how an average student would do at these? I have heard that motivated kids can excel at Galloway & that it is a great school, so I want to word this not to offend or have someone think my opinion of their school is "less". This particular child is not going to be a good candidate for 3hrs+ of homework, AP classes...or sports. Looking for maybe artistic or creative, noncompetitive clubs & environment for future. If I am surprised by a change, fine, but this is what we are looking for now.
