They can't stand the idea of the ATL getting ahead of them.

Something needs to be done at the federal level to stop with corporate welfare and protect residents from professional sports teams.

Some state legislators have picked up primary challenges based on their support for Superbowl tax breaks.

But Tuesday is also Election Day, and at least two Republican state senators are being made to sweat over their votes for the NFL incentives that, city officials and the Falcon front office tell us, were necessary to make Atlanta’s Super Bowl bid viable.

The Georgia chapter of Americans for Prosperity has targeted Steve Gooch of Dahlonega and Brandon Beach of Alpharetta for their support of HB 951, which offers sales tax breaks on tickets sold to the Super Bowl and other one-of-a-kind sporting events.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that's one of the sillier reasons to give an incumbent a primary challenge. But we definitely live in a silly season of politics (and I'm not just talking the incumbents).

At least Arlington gets a public vote. If they vote for it, that is on them.

"“In general, it doesn’t pay off. You can look at the numbers up and down and sideways.”

...

Like Pearl and Gwinnett, Cobb thinks it can come out ahead."

As always, I don't really think it's about the entire county or "everybody" coming out ahead. It's a concentrated play for certain officials, certain business owners and developers to come out ahead. Everybody else is just along for the ride.

You know why nobody has respond or reacting over this...... because they don't care....

They only care about the Cobb Situation specifically because the Braves moved from the city.

They don't care about about the Tax breaks and etc for the Falcons, The Superbowl, The money spent for infrastructure for the Olympics no.....

The Taxes breaks these companies are getting relocating to Georgia, The film industry and etc. They don't.

They using this to straw man the fact they clearly have something against Cobb.
