Depends on what you are looking for. I have a few good friends that live in that area and like it. It is a bit to car-centric and only served by buses for my personal preferences. But it is very affordable and you would be a short drive / Uber to many great places on the east side.

Pellerin Real Estate is announcing some tenants of the Beacon down on the south end of Grant Street. Meet and greets at the Summer in the Shade festival this weekend. So far it looks like a lease has been signed or is in progress for an ice cream shop, coffee shop, Carribean Restaurant, hair salon, gym, dentist, and a couple other community services. 60% leased.
They are also announcing the redevelopment of the Harper Mechanic building on Memorial. Word on the street is it will become another new restaurant.

I agree. When someone refers to affordable housing I tend to imagine being able to purchase on a teacher's or police officers salary. Also with a townhouse there is usually a monthly HOA fee to cover exterior maintenance and common areas, which adds a couple thousand a year.
