1. The stadium should be in downtown. (Don't want to have to split the money with another city/state)
- Not in the "suburbs" like stadiums in Dallas, San Fran, etc.
- Not in the next state like in NY
- New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta, etc have their stadium downtown
Miami's stadium is 20 miles from their downtown.

Wait...so Miami's stadium, which is 20 miles from downtown is considered "still Miami", but SunTrust Park, which is 13 miles from Atlanta, isn't? I only say that because that is a very common sentiment around here.

BTW, neither stadium are within the city limits of the respective namesakes.

Yep, we have Buckhead! oh wait, never mind... well, maybe those people wanting to party can buy a $2,000 purse and grab a beer at the hotel bar instead.

Well Miami's stadium (Joe Robbie) is actually about 12 & 1/2 miles north from downtown which is now in the actual city of Miami Gardens , a suburb. Not that it makes much of a difference since it's a inner ring suburb and is close to Ft. Lauderdale which is Miami's sister city too.
Both Broward & Miami Dade counties cooperate together to bring the SuperBowl to S.E. Florida.

Anyways Congrats to the ATL on getting the 2019 Superbowl !

OK, one of the links to an article focusing on the losses host cities supposedly sustain includes the price tag of building a new stadium. That's absurd.

That same article focuses on the costs paid by municipal governments for pubic safety and transportation. Of course those costs are going to increase when hosting a Super Bowl. One of the rationales for hosting a Super Bowl is the overall economic benefit to local businesses, so focusing strictly on municipal costs seems misleading.

Yeah, Buckhead is dead, but Party Central has moved to Midtown and surrounding neighborhoods.
