There are always going to be some areas that aren't covered by transit in any city. Even NYC has areas that don't have transit options...but I think many people believe that in NYC you walk right out your door and there is a rail station. There is often a lot of walking involved there, and it seems like people in Atlanta don't want to walk much.

Well, then I was in Kennesaw which is a nice enough place but didn't suit me. Now, I live in Mdtown.

I don't know if it would be regularly used. After the car inident, I'm not sure how people get around without cars, but I'm pretty sure there would be sufficient riders to support it.

I think most people without cars probably live in an area with rail or bus coverage. Otherwise they would have to walk or depend on shuttles and cabs. I definitely would want to be in Kennesaw without a car!

I guess that one could say that we as Southerners (and Georgians and metro Atlantans) expect transit to be clean, safe, fast, well-run (competently run), effective, convenient and responsive to our transportation needs.

I guess that one could also say that many of us would like transit to be innovative and cutting edge as well as quick and easy to use.

I myself would like to see transit integrated to be used along with the road network instead of transportation discussions often seeming to always be a question of transit vs. roads....Or "either or" as if roads and transit are not part of the same multimodal transportation network and cannot work together to compliment and supplement each other in the same transportation network.
GA 141 has the ROW to add transit-only lanes and implement meaningful BRT along some of it's corridor.

This I Totally agree with. When it comes to Georgia and the South, with the lay out tending to be more sprawl and spread out, we have to figure out how we can integrate Transit with Roads. There is no other way to have a successful Transportation Network both roads or Transit in this Area.

If you're talking about the state of Georgia and the South as a region, you can say that any state/region in the US (or anywhere for that matter) is mostly sprawl and spread-out. States like NY and MA, even with their walkable and transit-oriented urban areas, are generally rural or suburban in nature. Maybe you meant something else, but you can't expect an entire state or region to be dense and built for transit. Towns that are connected by commuter rail are generally suburban in nature (there are exceptions of course) with a rail station that provides parking.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment?

I'm speaking of Atlanta Metro and Metro areas in Georgia and the South similar,,, Even in smaller region's there Is s need to plan for what's to come to prevent the mess we have on our hands in the transportation/ transit department. We are now trying to catch up with our growth
