So many larger cities have a Chinatown or international district, Atlanta does have an area that is oriental and such, but it doesn't have the feel as in comparison to San Fran's china town or even Seattle's International district, just wondering if there are any plans or rumors or it being expanded?

Just think it will add more to the city to see something like this come into works.

It's unlikely. The Asian communities are too firmly rooted in the suburbs. Does Atlanta even have a large enough Chinese diaspora? I think the closest we're going to get is a Koreatown, which is basically Duluth.

We already have a Chinatown. Some people call it Chinatown. Some people call it Chambodia. Others just call it Buford Highway. I don't know if you can make specific plans to expand it, that just happens organically over time.

I don't think there's many Chinese here but I guess Koreatown would be Buford highway and Viettown would be Jonesboro Rd in Forest Park/Morrow.

Are you talking about a Chinatown in Atlanta proper or just anywhere in the metro?

There is a Chinatown near Buford Hwy, but it is only about a city block long. If I would have to guess where a larger one would land, I'd go with Gwinnett County.

Why does Atlanta need one? A lot of those ethnic neighborhoods were settled pre-WW2 when immigrants had to settle together for protection.

We have a Korea Town, in Duluth, around Satellite and Pleasant Hill.

It's the suburbs, but then again so is most of the city!
