Reconnect it as a pedestrian plaza.

Need some high fences. Might as well put in some tennis or basketball courts instead, or make it a large skateboard park. Or grow food for the homeless.

Exactly. Broad is already largely pedestrian only. Just "removing the top" of Five Points station would go along way to reconnecting South Downtown with Fairlie Poplar by removing a major visual barrier. But have a strait, level, pedestrian road (Broad) that draws people easily between the two would be even better. Would also connect well with the pedestrian centric Alabama St too.

Heck, I'd be happy if they just opened up the street-level portion of the station to the street / plaza in general. Move the fare gates, take down the fencing, tone back on the concrete over hangs, etc.

Well, I assume most MARTA employees drive to work like almost everybody else.

Basketball courts would be a great idea actually; they make more sense in the available space and there's plenty of time for a pick-up game between trains on the weekend.

Arjay, you should see the number of people wearing MARTA badges getting off the train at Lindbergh in the mornings.

I don't live around there, but if I did I would prefer a community garden.

No basketball courts. Soccor, tennis, etc are better

They're not putting in actual sod and dirt. It's artificial turf. Besides, I don't think a community garden there wouldn't really get enough sun to be really vibrant.
