Brookhaven Could Create Multi-Use Trail with a Beltline Tie-in | Curbed

Quote:
The City of Brookhaven just released plans to create a 2.7-mile multi-use trail along the north fork of Peachtree Creek as part of a 12-mile total effort called Peachtree Creek Greenway that would link with the Atlanta Beltline.
Quote:
The Brookhaven City Council could adopt the master plan for the city's portion of the greenway at an Aug. 23 meeting, following a presentation by the engineering firm.

Peachtree Creek Greenway | City of Brookhaven

Quote:
The North Fork begins just outside I-285 and generally follows I-85 until it joins the South Fork of Peachtree Creek near the Lindbergh MARTA station.

The goal of the greenway is to provide residents with close-to-home and close-to-work access to bicycle and pedestrian trails, serve transportation and recreation needs, and help encourage quality of life and sustainable economic growth.

As if the City of Atlanta needs more projects on its table, but I would love to see us pick up and extend the Proctor Creek Greeway all the way west until it meets up with the 'Hooch. Perhaps it could look something like this.

Someday, all of these things are going to connect and form a huge web of bike/pedestrian trails.

This is awesome. There are so many amazing plans for connecting Atlanta via trails right now. We are taking advantage of the natural row creeks give, Atlanta's reputation as a city in a forest will be further solidified. Trails like this, connect to the Beltline and projects like the bike lanes on Juniper or Peachtree. If all these plans come to fruition, wow

Yeup, while also providing better structure for pollution control.

Any word on if the city would carry this through our part of Peachtree Creek?
