Now, see? Here's a golden opportunity for the developer to the retrofit the existing buildings for a Margaritaville while being respectful to the building's history. The music tie-in is perfect for a Jimmy Buffett-themed entertainment venue.

I've been to the one at Universal Studios. It was terrible. And if you know anyone who needs to sober up, buy them a couple rounds of Margaritaville's strongest margarita.

Someone needs to make Jimmy Buffett aware of this. I doubt he knows this is happening, but this could easily become a PR problem for him.

A quick look at Google Maps, and anybody can see that this is just 3 buildings surrounded by parking lots. Why can't the developer purchase and build something new on one of the many parking lots surrounding that historic buildings? Why knock down something instead of retrofitting it to fit with any new building they might already be doing on the parking lots, especially given its music history? I don't understand why developers insist on knocking buildings down rather than building on the huge amount of parking lots that exist in that area already.

I hate developers like this. Like LovinDecatur said, this sounds like the perfect opportunity to create an interesting destination. How impressively thoughtless of the restaurant and developer to want to tear down (apparently) real music history to plop down a music based restaurant...just because it doesn't fit their template.

lazy, lazy, lazy
