When looking at houses in Johns Creek/Alpharetta/Milton on Zillow, I typically see that property tax bills (for 2015, the latest listed) are less than 1% of asking price. So for houses listed in the $500s and $600s, I’m seeing property tax bills ranging from $4500-$6500.

Does that sound right- annual property tax of roughly 1% of market value (not appraised value)? That seems low to me, considering how highly rated the schools are in N. Fulton. Perhaps I am overestimating the correlation of property taxes and school ratings.

In Milton, our tax bill(county + city) for the home we paid $600,00 for, is 4,800.
