We have been house hunting intown - morningside, virginia highlands, druid hills, candler park, etc. We would be interested in hooking up with a reputable intown builder, who may be waiting on the market to improve before building another spec home, to customize a houseplan for us. We have been unable to find a list of homebuilders who fit this profile.
Can any one recommend an intown builder who builds in the $750k- $900k price range? Thanks! |

I am not sure what you mean by customize a house plan for you. Do you currently own a piece of land? We recently purchased a piece of land and are working with our builder (who also has an architecting service) to finalize our floor plan. We hope to begin construction over the summer.
Our builder works almost exclusively ITP (as far north as Brookhaven and as far south as Inman Park) and would definitely seem to fit the profile you are seeking. As an FYI, our builder also has spec home division (they do about 50% spec homes and 50% true custom homes). By custom homes, I mean that the client comes with a floor plan (or has them design one) and picks out each finishing product (i.e. there are no "standard" features). If you are interested in getting their name, please PM me. |

I just sent you a PM on two excellent home builders. I would trust either one of them to custom build a home for myself.
What an exciting process! Good luck! |

What do you consider a reasonable fee? We just went through interviewing a ton of people. The going rate is about $3 to $4 a square foot. I found someone who could do it much cheaper, but I am not sure how competent he is. There are a lot of other firms that charge by the hour. I can send you some names.
