Is that outrageous? Aoki is a top DJ. People easily pay 100+ to attend other concerts.

People pay $100s for festivals or shows with multiple big acts if you are talking about EDM.

$45 for just Steve Aoki is lol to me.

Question: "What drives Atlanta's Nightlife???"
Answer: "TnA" in the King Peach

Sorry, didn't read the first post, so I don't know the real question yet. Lol

Folks really pay money to listen to a DJ? Man, I obviously don’t get out too often...

It's on the high end for Atlanta standards. It's closer to the pricing of his Vegas sets. I still don't think it's outrageous.

$45 might also keep out the younger, more immature under 21 crowd who might be more price sensitive. Might not be a bad thing.

Ansley, stay right there. If you've got some iced tea, I'll bring over some cheese and crackers and a jigsaw puzzle and we can really kick back.

Man, I saw Skrillex last year in Vegas at a residency for $20-$30.

Don't get me wrong - I am fan of Aoki, have seen him before at Opera ( was $20 and a good time ) and I'd pay $45 for DJs like Armin Van Burren or Diplo alone but if that is his going rate these days I'd rather wait until he at a fest around here or something.

*Edit

I just realized he is playing Orlando the same day at a festival ( RARE Orlando) that only cost $40 with a bunch of big acts. Lol wtf.

He's pretty popular these days. He closed out main stage at Tomorrowland on a Friday this year.

What about hot spots like Midtown and Edgewood? How about KSM and PCM? Is that driven by local residents who are walking or taking transit to the local bars and clubs?

From my limited observation of Buckhead and Brookhaven a lot of the patrons look like (a) local residents, (b) business travelers from the hotels or (c) teens or early 20 somethings who have cruised in from the suburbs. Virginia Highland has always pulled some locals, as well as plenty of folks from other intown neighborhoods.

The west side I really don't know, but I could see that pulling in a lot of locals. Likewise with East Atlanta and Inman park.

What about areas? Doesn't DeKalb rule the roost as far as late night clubs nowadays? If so, I wonder if it's the nearby residents or folks driving in from other areas.

What about Cobb, Perimeter and Alpharetta? Sandy Springs?
Cobb has no night life. Normally have to go down to Fulton Industrial for any fun.
