Nice place to stay - Aquarium
Checking for friends who are going to Atlanta soon and are visiting the Aquarium. I'm trying to help them find a nice place to stay somewhere near the airport or near the aquarium that is safe, family friendly and may have other things to do and places to eat that you would recommend.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Check out the Wyndham midtown -- Piedmont and 10th street. Easy access (by car or MARTA) to Aquarium. Nothing great about downtown so midtown is a good spot and I wouldn't tell anyone to stay near the airport.

The Omni Hotel at CNN Center/Olympic Park is a nice place to stay, you can walk to the Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN Center and you have Centennial Olympic Park to take the kids to. Also a short cab ride over you have the Martin Luther King Historic Site & The Jimmy Carter Center and The Atlanta Zoo. All very acessible from Downtown Atlanta.

Depending on the number and ages of the kids, they may also want to check out the Embassy Suites-Centennial Olympic Park. It's next door to the Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park, and within easy walking distance of CNN Center, the World of Coke Museum, and the ImagineIt! Children's Museum, as well as the rest of downtown (including MARTA stations to get you to Midtown, Buckhead, Perimeter, etc.). Like other Embassy Suites all of the rooms are two-room suites with either a king or two doubles in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room area, along with a refrigerator, microwave, etc.. They offer a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, evening manager's reception, a deli/market on site for lunches/light dinners, as well as an onsite location of Ruth's Chris Steak House. I've always found Embassy Suites to work well for our family of five when we're traveling -- being able to put the kids in another room to sleep is a huge sanity saver when you've been together in a car most of the day. It's not cheap, but when you factor in the convenience and the savings of having breakfast included (and the option to bring back leftovers from a big dinner and warm it up in the microwave for another meal) the overall cost may be more comparable to other hotels than it seems.

Tons of hotel selections in downtown adjacent to Aquarium where you and your family can have much fun and is convenient to various interesting and educational spots. Log on to the Internet and search for hotels in downtown Atlanta. I wouldn't recommend airport hotels, from where you will waste too much time on riding into town.
