Awww. It sure would have been fun to explore the abandoned, bankrupt amusement park a few years after its construction.

This supposed to be built in some place called Emerson way out in Bartow County. To call this Atlanta is stretching things a lot.

"Some place called Emerson"... It's on Lake Allatoona, just south of Cartersville. Definitely not Atlanta, but as much "Atlanta area" as Peachtree City, the Renaissance Festival, or the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Yeah, none of those places are "Atlanta" in my mind just because the Feds say so. Even if they are on paper as being metro atlanta, they are definitely edge cities on the fringe of the Metro.

Wait, you mean an amusement park centered on The Hunger Games being built 25 miles outside of the perimeter didn't work out??? Well, now I've heard everything.

That place sounded like it could have been really incredible if done right. There is a whole new world of immersive entertainment experiences that will rival riding a real roller coaster. With the right amount of creativity, they can simulate experiences like a shuttle launch that is so intense many would abort it. Go watch people's reaction videos to real VR, couple that with a ride like atmosphere and wow. I'm really disappointed now that I'm thinking about it. But not surprised.
