But really a thread created to somehow see #50 is good??? T Top 20 maybe. Then you get Sunbelt cities ( in the thread) mocking and claiming besting each other LOL. But at least they aren't mocking and claiming best over Northern cities.

I couldn't resist sorry.
You should be.

Your regular reminder that every group that creates ranked lists of cities uses their own completely arbitrary criteria, and can (and do) choose criteria to create the results they're interested in getting sites like Curbed to write about.

Economic reasons are still paramount for most of those folks. I'd argue that Black folks who moved to Atlanta just because of entertainment or nightlife without any consideration of other factors have done the city, and themselves, a major disservice.

One day you have to grow up and realize there's more to life than clubbing and going to the hip hop awards every year.

Being a black male, I'm sorry but I have to Totally Agree with this one. Not to mention, there are Sooo many Cities Across the US that have so much to offer blacks and the black culture besides Atlanta, DC, some Texas Cities like Houston, Dallas, or the norm that we expect to be quote on quote black Cities. You just have to get out there and visit, see for your self, stop being closed minded and Following word of mouth or what people tend to think is popular, which so many of us do. You never know, you could end up finding a much better quality of life some where across the US you never expected. People have some life changing decisions to make and choosing a City to live can be a major one...

Pay attention, fieldm. While I don't consider your belief I'm a lady to be an insult, I'm a male. Further, the paramount importance your posts' place on entertainment, clubbing, casinos, etc. indicates that I am MUCH older than you. There are so many more substantive, important and material parts of life than base partying. And, I fit in just fine in Japan, thank you. I'm not meaning to pick on you here, by the way, and am sure that the years-to-come will help you better understand. Enjoy the journey!

Well you'll notice there nearly no northern cities in the list. The first northern city is Syracuse (haha!) because despite some major advantages, life really is very difficult in the Northeast with the neverending winters and sky high taxes.

As for Atlanta, 50 is about where I would rank it if taking the whole metro as a whole. There are certainly cities and neighborhoods that should rank higher, like Decatur or Midtown but the problem is they also have to consider other parts of Atlanta. People like me who entirely live life in the Northeast quadrant of the city have no idea what horrors await in some other sections of the city. Your perception of Atlanta largely depends on your own demographics and place in life.
