I remember looking for houses in Adair Park and being concerned that the Beltline would now make that complex more connected. Sounds kind of bad, but I wouldn't want a connection from that apartment complex to my street.
Isn't the BeltLine about making more connections?

Oh, it is and that's why I say I feel bad about it. But being more of a realist than an idealist... I don't want that connection.

It's one of the reasons, but not the primary reason, why I'm not really considering Adair Park anymore

What if the connection leads to a positive change over time?

It's worth it in the long run, don't get me wrong. I just don't want to deal with the transition. I'm not going to spend my hard earned money to be a hero and potentially endure harm to my family and property. I applaud those that do, but it's not always a good decision for everyone.

The primary reason why I make these comments is because folks will see Beltline and assume that the area will transition to nice/comfortable/safe quickly. Unless they tear down those apartments, that's not going to happen. And BTW, I'm not necessarily advocating tearing down those apartments, at least not indiscriminately.

This is all coming from a huge fan of the Beltline btw...

Yes, I rode it. The section from Allene to Lawton is in the BeltLine ROw, but then there is a ramp up to Lawton@Donnelly and then crossover the BeltLine to Brown MS, down to White St and use the existing West End trail (spotted the Atlanta BeltLine mile marker 0 over there.) From there you follow White St side-path to Gordon-White Park, then cross White St back onto the BeltLine ROW. Then you follow the BeltLine ROW under RDA, I-20, Westview, and over MLK to Lionel Hampton Trail.
