What if two guys go down to the local Baptist church and tell the preacher, "You marry us or it's prison for you, buddy."
The preacher has an ironclad right to refuse based on the first amendment. This bill does not give him any stronger rights than he already has.

This bill and those like it are a red herring that do absolutely nothing but allow intolerant pols to make a statement opposing diversity.

Fun Fact: they actually can't.

At best they do nothing, but there are those that do actually make things worse for the LGBT+ community.

Exactly, such craziness.

People just use religion to push their own biases, this scenario is ridiculous, please read up on the issue and not just spout stuff that makes no sense.

Very interesting statement. It works in one direction, but not in the other.

Too late, it's already been done. We're way past neutral territory, and the religious side has finagled things heavily into their favor.

So, the Federal law that this copies is still on the books? If so, what is this other than a symbolic piece of legislation anyway?

Please inform the Georgia government that I will no longer be paying taxes, as my religion does not allow me to give up money to anyone other than the one true God. To force me to pay income or property tax would go against my beliefs and make me uncomfortable. I'm very glad they are considering this new law to give me the freedom to exercise my religion.

...Oh wait, only the religions they like get freedom.

Amazing how the same group of people can be out there championing a law to ban members of the Muslim religion from entering the country or wearing a head covering, yet don't see the hypocrisy of claiming that giving a gay couple a freaking cupcake at the bakery is far too much of a burden for these poor, innocent, Christian business owners.

What will these same people do if, using this very law, Muslim owned business start denying service to Christians based on their beliefs. I hope to see them just as supportive of this practice. Maybe Jewish people should do the same - say goodbye to good bagels, rednecks.
