Pope is a great school. Commute to Norcross could be a bit of a hassle, but that depends on specifics of exact starting/ending locations and time of day.

Pope is a good school but I attended Walton so of course I think it's better!
Good Luck!

I wouldn't like commuting from Marietta to Norcross -- at least until the BRT/light rail line is built on the north loop of 285. I'd consider looking for a job closer to Marietta.
You can probably bear it for a while, but eventually you're going to get tired of the commute especially when you see how much you are spending on gas... I'd probably keep an eye out for jobs in Cobb county or midtown Atlanta so you've shortened your commute before that happens.

Pope, Walton, and Harrison high schools are the best high schools in Cobb County. So yes, Pope is a good school.

Are you sure about Harrison? The Cobb top three is usually quoted as Walton, Pope and Lassiter.

All four are good. If you go by test scores (SAT, etc), which you shouldn't, the Cobb County schools' test scores almost always fall like this:
(each "number" represents a score category...schools usually change orders within number categories, but almost never score ahead of the schools in a higher category or below schools in a lower category)
1. Walton
2. Pope/Lassiter
3. Harrison/Wheeler/Kennesaw Mountain
4. Sprayberry/Kell
5. McEachern/North Cobb/Campbell/Hillgrove
6. South Cobb/Pebblebrook
7. Osborne
*I predict that Allatoona will fall in category #4 or #3.
*Note: Never judge a school by test scores alone. In my opinion, the best high schools in Cobb County are Wheeler, Sprayberry, and Campbell (some of the best kept secrets in the Metro Area).
