That tells the voters nothing about her policy and how she's going to lead the city. Every forum it's a new story.

Nobody needs to be "called out" on their opinion of a candidate. Debate is fine, but acting like you are the authority on accurate perceptions of candidates is BS. My opinion has been formed solely by the candidates responses, so don't tell me I am using poor judgment when I say she seems to have a problem connecting with constituents.

Accomplishments are important, but, IMO, a mayor's ability to be relatable and empathetic are critically important. And based off her responses, I think she will have a hard time pulling that off. Sorry if you don't agree with that. But that is my impression, so there's no need for you to "correct" it.
What you have posted in this thread speaks for itself, so I feel no further need to defend my POV.

Georgia Democrats attack ‘Mary the Republican’ in mayoral race | Political Insider

Quote:
Georgia Democrats spent more than $165,000 to paint Mary Norwood as a closet Republican during her 2009 run for mayor. The party has largely avoided attacking the city councilwoman as she rose in the polls in this election – until now.

The Democratic Party of Georgia on Thursday launched a full-scale online attack against Norwood, labeling “Mary the Republican” as a far-right conservative who has a web of connections to GOP figures.

The site highlights Norwood’s high-profile Republican supporters, her hiring of conservative operatives and her refusal to endorse Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia’s nationally-watched 6th District race.

“Atlanta has had a Democratic mayor since 1881, and we’re not about to let Mary Norwood and the Republican Party steal that office,” said Michael Smith, the party’s spokesman. “Mary Norwood is funded by the GOP, and then she turns around and hands the money right back to Georgia’s far-right element.”

The nastiness of the Georgia Democratic Party emerges once again, right on schedule. How many times have they done this?

And I seriously doubt that they've had any crises of conscience since 2009. Get ready.

Cool, we disagree. Much better than baselessly calling someone a sexist or ageist

Do they just attack any white candidate as a closet Republican? I thought this race was not partisan, so I think one party should stay out of it.

I don't think anyone has done this to Peter Aman yet. But then, he doesn't look like Nancy Reagan's little sister.

That would be preferable. For the love of God we do not need to dynamics of national politics polluting our local elections.
