I briefly explored that scene in my younger days because of pure curiosity.

And I can assure you....at least 95% of the people that you see at these events are people that you would never have interest in having sex with.

Here come the, "you just weren't at the RIGHT parties with the RIGHT people." I assure you that I was. While there may be exceptions here and there, the attendees are generally disgusting.

No you're right. I ventured into that swingers club Trapeze one time and quickly hit the exits after I saw some of the whales on display there. Smh. Waste of 125 bucks if you ask me. You can't get in without a female and my lady friend who I went with was like Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww when she saw some of the guys in there too. Swingers parties are for fat and out of shape people. Better off hitting a regular club or bar with a homegirl who likes girls too if you want to have some swingers fun

The first person stated that 95 percent are not what you want. That is not true it depends on the group or people you deal with. Your more upscale are going to be more secretive and you will have to know someone to meet the right people.

My band was once hired to play a 4th of July party for a nudist colony. There were about 400 nudists there and I really wish we had turned down the gig but it was really good money. That event was about 30 years ago and I'm still in therapy because of it. I'm all for people being content with themselves but the sagging, jiggling mounds of flesh were too much for me. I must say that the nudists were generally nice people and excellent hosts. Unfortunately one of the representatives of the colony wanted to sit in on a couple of songs which ordinarily would not have been a problem. However the fact that he was nude (and profusely sweating from lots of outdoor, naked dancing in the July heat) meant that he would have had to wear the guitar in such a way that it would make contact with the matted hair on his greasy stomach (of considerable size) as well as certain "other" body parts thus defiling the guitar. I knew that I wasn't going to let him use my guitar nor did the other guitarist. Somehow he found a guitar of his own so we let him plug in to an amp. He wasn't a bad guitarist. The beer was free and I drank a lot of it to calm myself down.

To each their own. As long as all are consenting adults and safe sex is practiced, I could care less. But my thoughts on these "swingers" and "nudist" events is that the VAST majority of the participants are usually overweight or out of shape, older, and generally not very attractive. I think the hook is that enough of them think that there will be a certain percentage of young attractive people who will show up and provide the eye candy. BUt that is almost never the case.
