Atlanta is listed 3 times on a list for "The 20 Most Popular Long Distance Moves of 2016". You may or may not be shocked, but Miami, Chicago and New York are losing citizens to Atlanta (https://www.sparefoot.com/self-stora...ar-moves-2016/).

What are your thoughts?

The most amazing thing to glean from this article is that it's the same exact distance -- 590 miles -- from Atlanta to Chicago as it is from Atlanta to Miami (neither of which is accurate according to Google)

You're like the only one who moved back to Chicago, according to the census estimates.

Particularly crazy fact considering that Florida is our neighboring state.

People have been leaving Chicago (for lots of places) for quite a while ... not surprised to find it on this list.

Planning a move to Atlanta as well. Have been watching the Atlanta forums since 2010 or so. There's ALOT of hate for the city but yet people are flocking there in doves! Hope my partner and I are welcomed with open arms!

Mostly Black and lower income folks that are migrating South since they are the ones hit hardest by crime and taxes. I don't blame them for leaving, but those of us that live in safe areas and can leverage tax deductions are doing just fine. My overall tax burden is only slightly higher here vs. Atlanta.
