I get that some conservatives don't like regulation, but it's insane to leave it up to for profit enterprises to regulate themselves and assume they'll do what's right. How many years did the tobacco industry lie about and fight that cigarettes caused cancer? Under your dream government there would probably still be no surgeon general warning on the packet.

I ask, why do you care so much about businesses that you're willing to hurt yourself to help their bottom line? Why do poor people deserve no safety nets at all, while huge corporations should get every chance to save money and rack up profit? Does it all come back to money and selfishness for you? Not being hostile, just curious.
Exactly, I get a decrease in regulation to a degree, but if they aren't regulated they'll let anything fly. Unfortunately I think that's the style of EPA Pruitt wants to see.

Red Herring. Where did I say government shouldn't regulate anything? Your argument is an irrelevant non-sequitur. And Energy Star isn't regulation. Its a government funded marketing campaign. Any number of trade groups could set the standard and allow companies meeting the criteria to use the mark.

Why do you hate business so much that you are willing to cost poor people their jobs?
If you've been in business, you see how much non-value added regulation there is. Much of it adds little value and costs jobs (except for lawyers). Meanwhile more people need safety nets because companies are spending so much on regulation, they can't expand employment. Sometimes they don't want to expand because it puts them in the next category of business that requires a lot more government regulations. There are a number of rules that exempt those below a certain number of employees (usually 50 or 100).

See, occupational licensing is an issue where you could get bipartisan agreement, and it also demonstrates that state and local government is often the biggest and the worst government.

With the exception of Librarians, most of these deal with health, safety and protecting the public from falling prey to bad business practices. Not sure what the deal is with Librarians, though.

While not the first politician to lie, Mr Ossoff's ads where he says what he is for, will do and stands for are off the charts, 180 degrees from what a Democrat is for, will do and stands for. Not believable, at all. If you are a progressive liberal and know what Mr Ossoff is really for, will really do and really stands for and want to vote for him, fine.

All others, if the stretching of his nation security experience did not tell you who this guy really is, the lines he speaks in the ads will. Caveat emptor.
