Trump is a complete idiot. This moron told the Australian President that they have better healthcare than we do -
They have a single payer system - Universal Healthcare (https://www.usatoday.com/videos/news...are/101316308/) yet the healthcare bill he and his Trum-pets passed yesterday is going to cut 24 million people by 2026 (CBO says millions lose health insurance under GOP Obamacare replacement) and people with pre-existing issues (If you were pregnant, you are now considered a person with pre-existing issue) can now be charged more for health insurance under Trump Care (http://www.miamiherald.com/news/loca...148603194.html). Who would back this man, besides the rich and the evil?

Get him out before he destroys all of America!!!

I think that we all should be hammering and pressuring both the Democrats and Republicans for universal healthcare. Universal healthcare is what we need in this country, not that garbage bill the Repubs just passed.

Ossoff for 2017!!!!!

That is a good point that voters' next chance to decide who occupies the presidency will be in 2020.

But in our system, voters also get opportunities to influence legislative outcomes not just every four years in quadrennial presidential elections but also get opportunities to influence legislative outcomes during the congressional, state and local elections that happen during and in-between those highest-profile quadrennial presidential elections.

Voters also get opportunities to influence legislative outcomes not just by participating in federal, state and local elections and voting at the polls but also get opportunities to influence and affect legislative outcomes by being active in our democracy through the organization of peaceful public assembly and protests, joining with others who may share similar goals for the legislative process and by (probably most importantly) contacting their local governmental representatives at the federal, state and local levels of government to express their views on important pieces of legislation.

Democracy does not just start and stop with quadrennial presidential elections every four years or so and democracy is more than just voting in presidential elections every four years.

Democracy is continuous engagement with the governing process (by way of the aforementioned actions) even when a presidential election is not going on.

If and when people do not like what is going on in the governing process, they have to be active in contacting their government representatives and expressing their opinions to them between presidential elections, both during the times when the candidates they like and dislike hold those offices.

Default WSB-TV Poll: Handel has slight lead over Ossoff in 6th District runoff

"WSB poll: Handel has slight lead over Ossoff" (Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Political Insider)

Quote:
Republican Karen Handel has built a slight lead over Democrat Jon Ossoff in a poll released Friday by WSB-TV in Georgia’s nationally-watched 6th District runoff.

The poll, conducted by Landmark Communications, has Handel with a 49-46.5 percent advantage over Ossoff. That’s within the 4 percent margin of error. Another 4.4 percent of voters are undecided.

Landmark Communications pollster Mark Rountree told WSB the findings shows Handel may be consolidating Republicans after bitter feuding between the 11 GOP candidates in the runup to the April 18 vote. It shows roughly 80 percent of Republicans back Handel.

"There were more Republicans that actually voted, or more people who voted Republican I should say, and they’re now getting behind Handel in bigger numbers. And she has now taken the lead in the race. It’s a small lead, but she has taken a small lead,”*Rountree*said.

There is cause for concern for Handel in the crosstabs, which show Ossoff has a 54-45 lead over Handel among female voters. It also finds that nearly 6 in 10 independents – a crucial voting bloc in Georgia that typically breaks for the GOP – backs Ossoff’s campaign.

The poll surveyed 611 likely voters in the district, which spans from east Cobb to north DeKalb, and it’s one of the first conducted since Handel and Ossoff landed in a June 20 runoff.

KAREN HANDEL JON OSSOFF: Plenty remain undecided in tightly-contested 6th District Congressional runoff | WSB-TV

Quote:
On Thursday, a Federal Court judge agreed with several civil rights organizations and ordered the state to reopen voter registration for the June 20 runoff.

Some experts say that could have some impact on this race.

Handel's campaign spokesperson, Charlie Harper, says it shows the Democrats are desperate.

"It shows what happens when Democrats know they are losing. They sue to change the rules midstream," Harper said. "They can't win with the votes they have. They're going to try and get more."

A Democratic Super-Pac released an internal poll Friday, in it, Ossoff is leading Handel by two points.

State Senator Fran Millar (who is a man, if you are not familiar with him) said “I’ll be very blunt: These lines were not drawn to get Hank Johnson’s protégé to be my representative. And you didn’t hear that,” said Millar. “They were not drawn for that purpose, OK? They were not drawn for that purpose.”

It is "cheating" to try to enable more citizens to participate in the electoral process, but gerrymandering and voter suppression is A-OK. That is how the GOP holds on to power, not by serving the people.

I was responding to his "Get him out before he destroys America." The impeachment talk by many Democrats and "blowing up the White House" talk by a few makes those Democrats look mentally ill. And makes Trump actually look rational, reasonable and respectable by comparison.

Trump is mentally and rationally unstable but the people who back him have to be even more so. I mean the man has shown you guys that he is devisive, only looking to give handouts to the very people who complain that the poor does not need it and it is evident that he does not want to be President with his numerous golfing trips and mentioning that he "misses his old life". Honestly, you saying that anyone who wants Trump out of office looks less rational, reasonable and respectable than Trump himself is humor to me. I mean if you are this naive, then there is no helping you! Trump will have to take away your rights or hurt your family in someway for you to open your lazy eyes.

Definitely one of the dumbest posts I have seen here in weeks. Trump, rational? Respectable?

Trump claimed it was rigged until he won, at which point it became totally legitimate.
