Early voting has started and it sounds like this will be quite a battle for a big chunk of the folks in the ATL. The election has attracted national attention.

Does a Democrat have a chance at a congressional seat long held by Republicans? Or will the Republicans win as usual?

Ossoff will win the plurality, they will have a runoff, and then the Republican will win because he has the magic R by his name and our country is too brain dead to do research and instead treat politics like a sports team where their side must always win even when wrong.

Hopefully not though.

Although outside my district, I hope Ossoff wins.

The 6th extends into Cobb and Cumberland I believe, but not quite down into Vinings. I'm just outside of it.

Really hope he wins. The attack ads on him on TV right now are ridiculous.

I guess we will find out if the wins for Democrats in the presidential election were just a flash in the pan or whether they really have a bunch of voters up there.

Yes, this will be a good test of the views on the Reps now with Trump in power and the push Dems are making in GA particularly ATL, a good test ahead of 2018.

This is an important time for the pro-transit folks to go to the mat for Ossoff. The Republicans are not very pro transit and if the Dems happen to pull one off they'd have an important contact in Washington.

On the other side, I would assume that as a veteran of state politics Karen Handel has a well-oiled machine on the ground.

Even if folks don't live in the district they can do a lot to help their preferred candidate by contributing, volunteering, getting out the vote, etc.

I have been canvassing for Ossoff. There are a lot more Dems in the northern part of the District than I realized.

Totally agree. I made a small donation via his web page earlier this month. And it appears a lot of other people have been too.
