Outside article on Atlanta's transportation problems.
Good article.

They suggest that the ATL would be passed over in federal transit funding because of John Lewis' tiff with President Trump back around the time of the inauguration, but I doubt Trump would be that petty.

What? No! ... ... It would have been demolished for the "East Atlanta Tollway" which also would have taken my home in Ormewood Park.

Your suburb wouldn't exist without Atlanta. Why would it? Suburbs exist only because of the cities they orbit. And, fortunately, Atlanta is full of people who will fight garbage like more interstates and commuter rail on the Beltline.

To the now deleted comment about storing 'highly cumbustable & highly flamable' materials, keep in mind that PVC ignites at 435°-557° C. That's 815° - 1035° F.

It takes a lot to get that going. That said, PVC may not burn pretty, but it sure burns hot. That's into the weakening of steel point (425° C), especially if left to burn for a prolonged amount of time to heat and bake the concrete.

Atlanta wouldn't exist without the suburbs. Most of the people who make Atlanta successful live in the suburbs. Atlanta could be eliminated and the burbs would keep on thriving.
