I can see it now: Tornado knocks the new HOT lanes down onto I-75 and takes out the I-285/75 interchange, flood waters turn the connector into a canal, and a lightning strike sets a mixed-goods train on fire under I-20, bringing down the bridge over the 'Hooch.

It will, of course, all be GDOT's fault.

First round of three storm systems forecast for this morning thru the evening is moving through the metro. This was supposed to be the weakest of the bunch, but there is already a tornado warning for Carroll and Fulton counties.

Looks like a rough day ahead.

Wrong again, Weather Channel.

They predicted a "TorCon" of 8/10 for Atlanta today, which is the highest I've ever seen (meaning there was a 80% chance of a tornado within a 50 mile radius, according to their forecast). But aside from a few thunderstorms and some rain, it wasn't so bad at all.

Moral of the story - the worst weather happens when they don't predict it.

80% chance means there's a 20% chance that won't happen...

OK... anyway, the local channels got it wrong too. They actually had me quite worried today with their predictions of damaging storms and power outages. I'm happy they were wrong, but the fact is you can't trust their forecasts.

Yep, the forecasts all busted good today for Metro Atlanta. SE Georgia still got its fair share of tornado hits, and it's still not over yet, for either regions.
