My three daughters had a wonderful experience at Austin Elementary.

Here are the elementary schools that serve Vinings.

Teasley Elementary School - Smyrna, Georgia - GA - School overview

Argyle Elementary School - Smyrna, Georgia - GA - School overview

You might want to rethink that statement.

Teasley is a super nice elementary school, in a nice area. 6/10 seems inaccurate.

A nice building in a nice neighborhood doesn't always translate to a quality education.

I ended up choosing a townhouse in Vinings and I'm under contract now. I hope I don't end up kicking myself later on because I didn't choose a place close to a MARTA station, and in the future I might not be able to afford the Sandy Springs area. The one townhouse that I liked in Sandy Springs, the seller was asking too much for it. The one in Vinings was cheaper and had more square footage, and more community amenities.

I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. Vinings is lovely, well-located and isn't carrying the baggage that SS is ie the Roswell Road Corridor.

Congrats!

Hopefully in 5-10 years there might be commuter rail out this way. We'll see how things shake out. I can't imagine the no transit situation will last forever.

I think it just goes to show how bogus these "greatschool" scores can be in terms of identifying quality schools. Teasley is an excellent school.

That score was questionable to me, too, especially considering the rave reviews that parents gave it on the same site.

PT, is the track that runs through downtown Vinings still active?

Thank you! Yeah, hopefully we will get commuter rail soon. In the meantime I'll be taking the CCT #10 to Arts Center and from there it's pretty easy to get around the city.
