They actually do. The vast majority of criminals operate by automobile.

However, I don't see that as a reason to ban cars.

Parking lots are not very safe places.

Take a look at just about any crime map and it will show robberies, assaults and worse clustered around parking lots.

As much as I support transit here, and was irritated at the idiocy of the last few discussions, can we please not use each tragedy for our own agendas, no matter what they are?

Let the aggregate data speak for itself, but let the individual events stay and leave those involved to mourn.

I don't see this in terms of a pro or anti transit agenda at all. However, that doesn't change the fact that parking lots are often dangerous places.
