Im looking to do something different this year rather than wait inline at the usual chain restaurants. Ill take any suggestion but I really want to keep it in the Marietta or South Cobb area as my family doesn't like to travel too far from Mayretta, they prefer soul food.

Thanks!

One place that comes to mind is "This Is It! BBQ and Seafood" which has a location on Cumberland Boulevard in Smyrna.

There's a South City Kitchen at the corner of Cumberland and Atlanta Rd, and a Jim and Nick's at the corner of S Cobb Dr and E/W connector. Maybe one of those?

Also there's a little mom&pop BBQ joint at the corner of Windy Hill and S Cobb Dr. Haven't tried it yet but it looks interesting.

And then there's lots of soul food and BBQ type stuff in Mableton also.

The This is it! on Cumberland is disgusting. The food is really bad.
