How does one's attitude cause traffic problems? We have traffic problems because our public transit options are severely lacking for a city / metro of Atlanta's size and by the simple fact that most folks have cars and will continue to have cars for the foreseeable future. Yeah, I complain about traffic, but I'm not about to adopt a car free lifestyle no matter what part of town in which I live. That can be said for the vast majority of folks.

You have places like Plano, Texas where you have a 3 miles stretch of red brick doctor's boxes. You don't want regulators to have the power to get that specific. They designated the brick color. It then becomes the taste of a small group of people. (note-I like the dark red brick doctor's boxes, just not 3 miles of them).
I was talking about zoning and about the size and location of the building envelop. Taste policing is better left to HOAs.

And transit is not viable in most of the metro because it lacks density. And the density doesn't exist because we have made it illegal. Hence why these zoning overhauls are so important.

Sure, but we still should still offer viable car-free / car-lite living options to those that want it.

In theory, I tend to agree with this. I just don't see how it is practical on a large scale.

Don't worry Forsyth Co will be spared, you'll be able to drive around and park in your 2-car, front facing garage.

I think it might be coming on a large scale sooner than you think. Most analysis points towards most people getting rid of owning a car with the rise of autonomous cars in the next decade or so:

Buildings will be around decades, we need to get rid of laws like parking minimums now so development can start preparing for these changes if they choose.

If the current residents want more density, who are you to say otherwise?

Mmmmmm...2-car garage...the things dreams are made of. Can't wait to not have a 1-car garage any more!

In my opinion, this graph is highly optimistic. In a 9-year period, nearly every person and business in the nation will give up their vehicle and start using public autonomous cars?
