Atlanta-based Hip-Hop vocalists like Future (who had two #1 albums released in the same year last year and released two #1 albums in the same MONTH this year), Rae Sremmurd (who are from Mississippi but are based in Atlanta and had a massive hit with "Black Beatles" (the song that people liked to play during "Mannequin Challenge" videos in 2016)) and Migos (who had a massive hit with "Bad and Boujee") had monster years in 2016.

That while Atlanta-based super-producers like Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Mike WILL Made-It, Southside and TM88 had monster years on the boards and basically helped to drive the direction of Hip-Hop music with the Atlanta-based and originated "Trap" sound last year (and into this year) that is being mimicked all over the continent.

Atlanta's music scene has been on one heck of a run over the last few years and is enjoying a current run of success and dominance in the mid-late 2010's that cannot be downplayed or denied.

Since the OP hasn't been back online since 5/31, and the thread is veering off topic, this is a good time to close.

There are some great posts about the entertainment industry. Please feel free to start a new thread. Thank you.
