I'm glad to see this. We have precious little historical architecture in Atlanta and we haven't been very good stewards of it.

Bulldoze it all and replace with no setback condos, town homes and other such housing. And make it cheap. Everyone should be able to live in Buckhead.

I will say that with regards to new townhouse construction, Buckhead has set the bar in this town. I really like what they're doing in Buckhead Village on E. Andrews and Buckhead Ave. Rather reminds me of Mayfair and Belgravia in London.

Then you obviously have no clue of what you are even arguing about if you had to google it.

It seems I have more clue than you do. You still have yet to present a valid argument of why Tuxedo Hills is "historic."

Are you for real? You have no idea where or even what it is, yet you are willing to argue it's merits and claim it isn't historic?

You aren't familiar enough with the subject to even care, you are just arguing for the sake of it. Educate yourself a little, and then get back to me.

New construction? Yes, absolutely. Do it with taste and discretion for your surroundings.
Adaptive re-use? Absolutely. I love what Atlanta has been doing in this regard.
Bottom line is that good architecture should always be honored. It is an artistic endeavor, like any fine art. Those who fail to respect this aren't fit to clean the dung of the shoes as such greats as Palladio, Wren, Jay, White, Wright, Gehry, Calatrava or the school of Atlanta Classicists.

Some enormous missteps in the path of our city's 'progress':

Who made you the arbiter of what is the right thing to do with someone else's private property. If you want to honor the art, go buy it and preserve it.

Cheap comes from meeting demand with supply. I doubt that Buckhead will be terribly cheap despite increased supply given the pent up demand. Doesn't mean we shouldn't add housing anyway.

Dios Mio. Can you actually try and put forth an actual argument?

I HAVE educated myself on it! As I already said before! There is nothing about Tuxedo Hills other than the governor's mansion on the edge, and it's slightly unusual name...which won't be changed by what buildings are or are not there. If it was noteworthy in any way, then that information would be out there, THERE IS NOTHING!
