Hey All! I'll be moving up near Sandy Springs next month and am getting everything ready for the move. The apartment complex utilizes these two for its internet needs... which of the two is better? Or are both of them crap?

Thanks in advance!

Check the speeds that are available via AT&T first then you can make a comparison between them and Comcast.

You might be stuck on non upgraded DSL lines (I doubt it but possible in some areas still in SS) or you can have access to fiber so you should be able to get access to the higher speed categories (25, 50, 75 100 or 1G).

I've had AT&T and Comcast. Less outages with AT&T, slower speeds vs Comcast.

Then again, I've had a couple outages with Comcast plus our neighborhood being oversubscribed so speeds were slow during the morning and evening until they came out and fixed our node.

Plans that are available:

U-Verse: Internet 50 for $40.00 + Taxes and Fees
I did talk with a rep and they said that there would be a $10 discount per month since I have ATT as my cell service. They are also offering a $50 Visa card but there is a $99 install fee.

Comcast: Up to 25 Mbps for $40.00 + Taxes and Fees
Install fee I can probably get waived as I will already have a cable modem approved for Comcast.

Sounds like AT&T is the better deal for you. See if you can get the installation fee waived since you are already a customer or look for a promotion code.

I live in California but I had Uverse and you really need to watch out for those introductory rates, we had service with them and after the first year our rates doubled. I called them thinking that I could negotiate lower rates, even if it involved signing a contract and they wouldn't budge, I cancelled and got Comcast, the internet throughput on Comcast is actually better & we had fiber to the house with AT&T. The problem with AT&T (according to my husband a retired network engineer) is that the service depends on how close you are to the node, the range is awful and after a certain distance it falls off fast. He said they sell speeds that you will almost never get but if you can get 50 mbps once in a month they will say it's working as intended
