I see, major potential for issues with 911 between South Fulton, Fairburn and Union City.

I feel sorry for any officer/EMS who has to work in District 3 or 4.

UC gained all the tax money from these developmens but had no obligation to the communities surrounding them. This stirred a lot of controversy (I actually know somebody who works in Union City but will never mention it to her neighbors in her South Fulton subdivision) and turned the South Fulton movement into a statement against the existing cities (mostly College Park and Union City), a big FU, if you will. It was dramatized, but it was the easiest way for these negleted residents to have a voice. It's not about borders, it's about the bond between the most neglected area OTP.

Regardless of how it all happened, I wish they'd freaking fix it.

This should be the borders of Union City:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Un...!4d-84.5327038

And the areas north of that should generally be in Atlanta.

Areas west of that could be the new city, but give it a decent name, like the City of Campbellton, or the City of Camp Creek. And actual contiguous borders.

A city should be a distinct place, a distinct area, even if just geographically. At the very least, pick an historic or prominent road intersection or landmark, and center the area around that and claim that identity. Heck, Johns Creek did that.

The state of Georgia really dropped the ball by allowing this referendum without fixing the borders. I bet 90% of the people that voted for this didn't even realize how screwed up the map is.

And if we ever do, I'm sure I'd be in the city of Vinings, which would have actual identity and history, and would make sense, and probably have clear boundaries, like I-285 or major roads. Whereas, the "city" of South Fulton is ridiculous on all counts.
Unless Smyrna annexed you first.

Annexation laws are so broken in this state, I would say we need an overhaul but I don't trust our legislature to do it. Imagine the segregated boundaries our Republican leadership would propose.
