This was in the most recent Citizen paper: Off of Hwy 74 in between Sandy Creek and Jenkins in Tyrone, Georgia. It looks fantabulous! Very pretty.

Nope! The studio announced here is CINEMA SOUTH and is proposed on GA 314 north of Fayetteville. The one you're referring to is FOUNDERS STUDIO on Ga 74 at Jenkins Road, across from Sandy Creek High School.

Tyrone to join Fayetteville in movie-TV spotlight - The Citizen

Thus there are 2 new studio projects in the works for Fayette County, joining the already massive Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville. This will further make Fayette County the biggest film production center outside of California and the epicenter of Atlanta's film industry.

On a related matter, a bizarre parcel of land measuring less than 1 acre that's surrounded on three sides by the Pinewood Forrest development (directly across from the studios) has been rezoned to office-institutional to allow construction of a 3-story office building called The Overlook. A couple of rundown mobile homes currently sit on the site. The owner had refused to sell to Pinewood.

GA 314 across from Newton Plantation in the far north end of the County (where Fayette, Clayton and Fulton all converge). About 7 miles due south of Hartsfield-Jackson South Terminal.

The other new proposed studio is on GA 74 in Tyrone. Fast access in and out of the airport is proving to be the biggest drawing card for all these southside studios.

BTW ... Pinewood is now at 18 sound stages and more than 1 million SF of office, production, workshop and warehouse space and they're not finished. They've got 800 acres to build on. I'm pretty sure they own all that land across Sandy Creek behind the Production Center, and rumored to have more under contract. All the local property owners are trying to get rich while they still can.

From the Film Fayette Facebook page, here's an aerial photo from the Russo Brothers of the "trailer park"' on the backlot where dozens of A-list stars crash in between shooting scenes on "Avengers: Infinity War."

Who's on location in Fayetteville this summer you ask?

Wow, this is all great news. Just Pinewood is good on it's own. I wonder if this is that large piece of property on the west side of 314 that has been for sale forever. I hope this tax credit lasts forever, it's been great for Fayette!
